Select Tools > Image effects to open the window shown directly below. Then drag the shape by holding the left mouse button to snip out an area to capture in the snapshot. Pressing four switches the rectangle to a triangle, and five selects a diamond snip shape. Or you can press three to switch to a circle as in the snapshot below.
Press two to select a rounded rectangle shape to snip with. This Region option has a few shapes you can select with the Numpad number keys one to five. So there’s lots to select here, and to do a more basic rectangular snip select Region. For example, you can select Region, Region (Annotate), Polygon, Freehand, Region (Transparent), Website capture and it also has a Screen recording option. It includes a wider variety of screenshot options than the others with 15 capturing modes. You can also write a custom message on the snip, highlight in the snip, erase the text or highlighting you added, or edit the snip in the Microsoft Paint program.Select Capture to take a snapshot with ShareX. You can choose from Save Snip, Copy, or Send Snip.

The captured image is displayed in the Snipping Tool window, and additional options appear on the toolbar.If you selected Rectangle mode or Free-form mode, press and hold the left mouse button, drag the mouse to highlight the area you want to capture, then release the mouse button.If you selected Window mode, select the window you want to capture.Click the New option or press Windows key+ Shift+ S to start a new snipping action.Click the drop-down menu to the right of the + New option, and select the preferred capture mode.
